The team will be captained by Anika Kolan, who continues in her role after a successful tour of the West Indies. Aditiba Chudasama will serve as vice-captain, bringing her valuable experience and leadership to the team.

Many players in this year’s squad, including Captain Anika Kolan and Vice-Captain Aditiba Chudasama, also represented the USA in the inaugural 2023 ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup. Their previous experience in international cricket will be crucial in providing guidance to the team.

“We are thrilled to announce our U19 squad for the forthcoming World Cup. Following a thorough examination of players’ performances, fitness, and skills during the recent camp, as well as prior tours and National tournaments, we believe we have a talented blend of youth and experience. Our goal is to nurture their development while competing strongly on the world stage. We are confident in their potential and look forward to seeing them perform,” stated Amer Afzaluddin, Chair of the Women’s Selection Panel.

Additionally, several players such as Disha Dhingra, Isani Vaghela, Chetna Reddy Pagydyala, Ritu Singh, Suhani Thadani, and Saanvi Immadi have become regulars on the senior national team, showcasing the strength and depth of the current squad.

Preparations for the team included a challenging tour to the West Indies earlier this year, where they competed in a five-match series against the West Indies U19 team in St. Augustine, Trinidad. The USA U19 Women claimed two convincing victories, ending the series with a seven-wicket win in the final match, while one match was canceled due to rain.

“We are very pleased with the progress the players have made, particularly following the West Indies tour. The experience gained there will undoubtedly benefit us in the World Cup. Our objective is to play fearless cricket and highlight the advancement of USA women’s cricket on the global stage,” commented Hilton Moreeng, USA Cricket Women’s Head Coach.

The squad is scheduled to visit South Africa starting January 3rd for a training camp and warm-up matches against Cricket South Africa’s U19 Women’s team prior to heading to Malaysia.

USA’s U19 Women’s team aims to build on their debut campaign in the 2023 U19 Women’s T20 World Cup and is keen to demonstrate their progress on an international platform. The mix of experience and fresh talent prepares them for an exciting tournament ahead.
