The newly appointed CEO of USA Cricket, Johnathan Atkeison, will assume his role from August 1st, 2024. With a background as the Chief Operating Officer of USA Rugby, Atkeison brings over 15 years of experience in national governing body affairs, encompassing high-performance, grassroots development, and business management.
Regarding his appointment at USA Cricket, Atkeison remarked, “I’m thrilled to be part of the USA Cricket team. This is an exciting period for the sport in the United States, given the remarkable achievements of the men’s national team at the recent T20 World Cup, the successful conclusion of the second Major League Cricket season, and the upcoming cricket showcase at the LA28 Olympic Games. Our objective is to establish a top-tier organization to leverage this momentum and firmly entrench cricket in American sports culture.”

Bringing a wealth of experience in national governing body environments, Atkeison’s career transitioned from coaching and national team program management to becoming a development manager overseeing local competitions. Following his pivotal role in the financial reorganization of USA Rugby in 2020, Atkeison led the organization through a period of substantial growth and development, marked by the evolution of USA Rugby’s membership system and digital assets, the establishment of a professional development squad aimed at nurturing the future national team players, and the successful bid for hosting the 2031 and 2033 Rugby World Cups in the United States.
Atkeison further stated, “The exuberant passion exhibited by the cricket community is remarkable, and I am eager to commence my new role.”
Expressing his enthusiasm, Mr. Venu Pisike, Chairman of USA Cricket, commented: “USAC is thrilled to welcome Johnathan to the leadership team.
