    Sarah Glenn Shines In The ICC T20I Bowling Rankings

    The South African women’s cricket team, captained by Laura Wolvaardt, is set to welcome England for a comprehensive series spanning all formats, scheduled from November 24, 2024, to December 18, 2024. The English team, under Heather Knight’s leadership, achieved a sweeping victory in the T20I series. The ODI matches are set to kick off on December 4, 2024.

    The captain of the West Indies, Hayley Matthews, has moved closer to the top position, now ranking 3rd with 740 points after climbing one spot. India’s vice-captain Smriti Mandhana also ascends to tie for 4th place with the South African captain Laura Wolvaardt, both holding 736 points. New Zealand’s Suzie Bates, Australia’s Alyssa Healy, and Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu have also made strides, each moving up to the 6th (680 points), 7th (678 points), and 8th (670 points) spots, respectively.

    Nat Sciver-Brunt of England was the second-highest run-scorer in the recent T20I series against South Africa, amassing 126 runs over two innings, which included two half-centuries (59 off 54 balls and 67* off 43 balls). Her standout performances saw her rise two spots to hold the 12th position (639 points). Veteran opener Danielle Wyatt-Hodge topped the run charts for the T20I series with 142 runs, including two half-centuries, and has climbed three spots to sit at 14th (628 points).

    Maia Bouchier contributed 64 runs over three innings, ranking as England’s third-highest run-scorer and rising one spot to 25th (554 points). Young South African all-rounder Nadine de Klerk emerged as the highest run-scorer for her team and the third overall in the T20I series, scoring 80 runs at a strike rate of 135.59 in three innings. Her performances elevated her five spots to 52nd (439 points). Annerie Dercksen, another promising 23-year-old South African all-rounder, was the second-highest run-scorer for her side and the fourth in the series, netting 69 runs across three innings, climbing an impressive eleven spots to 91st (309 points).

    ICC Women’s T20I Bowling Rankings

    Sarah Glenn, a talented 25-year-old leg-spinner from England, was the second-highest wicket-taker in the T20I series, claiming five wickets in two innings. Her performance has brought her closer to the top, advancing three positions to tie for the 2nd spot (745 points) alongside Pakistan’s Sadia Iqbal. Off-spinner Charlie Dean led the T20I series as the top wicket-taker with six wickets in three innings, climbing six spots to join Nashra Sundhu from Pakistan in 9th position (703 points).

    England’s Lauren Bell took two wickets in two innings during the series, earning a five-spot jump to 15th (670 points). Lauren Filer also made an impact for England, taking one wicket across two innings and seeing a remarkable rise of 44 positions to tie for 79th (373 points) with Scotland’s Olivia Bell. In addition, 19-year-old all-rounder Freya Kemp recorded two wickets in three innings, advancing seven spots to 98th (327 points).

    ICC Women’s T20I All-rounder Rankings

    The standout performer for South Africa in the T20I series was a 24-year-old all-rounder, who claimed the title of her team’s top wicket-taker and the third highest overall with four wickets in three innings. Alongside her bowling prowess, she also shone with the bat, scoring 80 runs in three innings, making her the leading run-scorer for South Africa and the third overall. Her efforts have resulted in a one-spot climb to 10th (237 points). Charlie Dean from England has also moved up one spot to claim 18th (174 points).

    Bangladesh’s Marufa Akter has seen an upward movement, climbing two spots to 72nd (68 points). Veteran opener Danielle Wyatt-Hodge has improved by four spots to tie for 84th (55 points), sharing that position with South Africa’s Anneke Bosch and Annerie Dercksen, who notably jumped eleven spots. Freya Kemp from England also made a significant jump, climbing fourteen places to sit at equal 96th (49 points) alongside Hong Kong’s Mariko Hill, Bangladesh’s Sanjida Akter Meghla, Australia’s Darcie Brown, and Scotland’s Darcey Carter.
