Nida Dar, a well-known cricketer from Pakistan, recently utilized social media to convey her best wishes to Indian cricket icons Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Rahul Dravid, along with Team India for their successful performance in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Her message, which was meant to be shared on June 30th, ended up being posted on September 5th due to social media limitations within Pakistan. This postponement led to initial misunderstandings among her followers, prompting Dar to clarify her message with a subsequent tweet.
On June 30th, 2024, Dar first shared images of Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli with the World Cup trophy, along with a picture of Indian team coach Rahul Dravid. She wrote in the caption, “A special acknowledgment to Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for their significant contributions to World Cricket. Your leadership and commitment have motivated millions globally. Happy retirement, legends!”
Nevertheless, because of limitations on social media channels like X (previously Twitter) in Pakistan, Dar’s tweet was mistakenly published on September 5th, 2024, instead of its intended date, June 30th, 2024, creating confusion among her followers.
To address the misunderstanding, Dar shared a follow-up tweet three hours later, stating, “I originally created this post on June 30th, 2024, but because of restrictions on Twitter in Pakistan, it went live last night instead, something I found out through the media. I’m including both images in this post.”
This clarification helped to clear the confusion, and supporters from both India and Pakistan expressed their admiration for Dar’s sportsmanship in the comments.
