The Ireland women’s squad, captained by interim leader Gaby Lewis, recently welcomed England, led by skipper Kate Cross, for a trio of ODI matches followed by a pair of T20I contests.

In the recently finished series against England, Ireland’s interim captain Gaby Lewis amassed 79 runs over three innings. Among her total runs was one half-century recorded in the third ODI of the series held in Belfast. Due to her outstanding performance, she has made an impressive leap, moving up 8 ranks to the 16th spot (559 points). New Zealand’s Maddy Green has also advanced a couple of places to the 26th position (498 points).
Leah Paul, the talented 25-year-old all-rounder from Ireland, scored 56 runs across three innings in the recently wrapped series against England, and consequently has ascended two spots, now sharing the 32nd position (464 points) with Sri Lanka’s Nilakshika Silva.

South Africa’s seasoned all-rounder, Marizanne Kapp, has advanced one position to 9th place (593 points). The promising 23-year-old fast bowler from England, Lauren Filer, had a remarkable series against Ireland, taking six wickets in three innings. As a result, she has moved up three ranks to share the 57th spot (347 points) with Pakistan’s Ghulam Fatima.
The 18-year-old off-spinner from Ireland, Freya Sargent, stood out as a key performer for her team with the ball during the recent ODI series versus England. She finished as the second-highest wicket-taker for her team and the fourth overall in the series, claiming five wickets over three innings. Following her notable performances, she has risen five spots to now share the 84th position (269 points) with Thailand’s Suleeporn Laomi.
Another rising star, 18-year-old left-arm spinner Aimee Maguire, also posted a commendable performance in the recent ODI series against England. She emerged as Ireland’s leading wicket-taker, ranking second overall in the series with seven wickets across three innings. Her wicket count included one remarkable five-wicket haul during the third ODI. This spell (3.5-0-19-5) was pivotal in securing a memorable victory for her team in the series’ third match. Her impressive displays have propelled her up 54 spots to rank 87th (257 points).
Teammate Orla Prendergast, a 22-year-old all-rounder, also delivered a solid performance against England, taking three wickets in three innings, which facilitated a three-spot gain to the 88th position (255 points).

West Indian skipper Hayley Matthews, aged 26, has gotten closer to the top of the ICC Women’s ODI all-rounder rankings, moving up one position to the 2nd rank (394 points).
Ireland’s young all-rounder Orla Prendergast, aged 22, had a standout performance in the recent ODI series against England, accumulating 87 runs in three innings, including a half-century (76 off 87 balls) in the first ODI. In addition to her batting success, she took three wickets in three innings. Thanks to her impressive all-round performance, she climbed one spot to share the 28th position (126 points) with Australia’s Megan Schutt.
Gaby Lewis, the young 23-year-old interim captain from Ireland, also scored 79 runs throughout three innings. Her contributions included a half-century (72 off 56 balls) during the third ODI, crucially assisting her team in achieving a historic victory in the final ODI of the series. The 18-year-old all-rounder Freya Sargent delivered an impressive performance in the recent ODI series against England, ranking as her team’s second-highest wicket-taker and fourth overall in the series. Although she only added 10 runs in two innings with the bat, she saw a significant leap of 8 spots, now sharing the 91st position (43 points) with Bangladesh’s Sultana Khatun, England’s Freya Kemp, and Karishma Ramharack from the West Indies.
