The rivalry between India and Pakistan is considered one of the most intense in the world of sports, particularly in cricket. The excitement and buildup surrounding their encounters reach heightened levels. However, in recent years, this intensity has diminished somewhat, particularly in cricket, due to India’s clear superiority over their long-standing rivals across both men’s and women’s formats.

In the women’s T20I format, the Women in Blue boast an impressive 81% win rate against Pakistan. Since the tournament’s inception in 2009, the score stands at 6-2 in favor of India for matches in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Their dominance is even more pronounced in the ODI format, where they remain unbeaten against Pakistan.

Similarly, in the men’s arena, the Men in Blue possess an outstanding win percentage of roughly 78% in ODIs over the last decade. In T20Is, India has recorded a solid 71% win rate against Pakistan during the same timeframe (December 2014—December 2024).

Notwithstanding these statistics, the potential confrontations between the two sides continue to be a hot topic among cricket enthusiasts, particularly leading up to a high-stakes match. Alongside their on-field battles, a recurring subject has emerged in recent discussions—the venue of these iconic matchups. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has addressed all concerns and speculations regarding the venue for “India Vs Pakistan” clashes with a definitive decision.

All matches between India and Pakistan in ICC tournaments for both men and women, hosted by either country during the 2024 to 2027 cycle, will take place at a neutral venue determined by the tournament host.

This decision will affect several upcoming tournaments, including the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, which is scheduled to be held in Pakistan, the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025, set for India, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2028, for which Pakistan has recently been awarded the hosting rights.
