    Deepti Sharma Leads To Second Position In Recent ODI Rankings

    The Indian women’s team, under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, recently welcomed New Zealand, captained by Sophie Devine, for a three-match ODI series following the conclusion of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, which took place in the United Arab Emirates. Meanwhile, the Zimbabwean women’s team, led by Josephine Nkomo, hosted the United States for a five-match ODI series from October 17 to 28, 2024.

    Women’s ODI Batting Rankings

    Sri Lankan captain Chamari Athapaththu has moved closer to the top rank, advancing one position to 3rd place with 733 points. Sophie Devine, the New Zealand captain, made a notable contribution with 81 runs across two innings, including a half-century (79 off 86 balls) in the second ODI against India. This performance saw her rise three spots to 8th position (671 points). Amelia Kerr from New Zealand has also moved up one spot, now ranked 11th (637 points). Veteran all-rounder Suzie Bates, who accumulated 59 runs in two innings with a half-century (58 off 70 balls), has climbed two spots to share the 15th position (570 points) with Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner.

    Maddy Green, a seasoned middle-order batter, shone in the series against India, scoring 73 runs across two innings. Her solid performances have propelled her seven spots up to the 18th position (545 points). Zimbabwe’s Chipo Mugeri Tiripano had a standout series as well, finishing as the second-highest run-scorer with 188 runs at an average of 37.60 over five innings against the USA. This effort catapulted her 21 spots upward to the 28th position (480 points).

    Indian batter Jemimah Rodrigues scored 52 runs in two innings during the series against New Zealand, allowing her to climb three spots to share the 30th position (475 points) with Sri Lanka’s Harshitha Samarawickrama. New Zealand’s Brooke Halliday, who added 47 runs in two innings, rose three spots to the 36th position (459 points). In her impressive performance, Modester Mupachikwa from Zimbabwe was the top run-scorer in the series against the USA, amassing 210 runs at an average of 42. She climbed nine spots to 46th position (420 points).

    Ashley Ndiraya from Zimbabwe also excelled, finishing as the third-highest run-scorer in the series with 180 runs at an outstanding average of 60. She moved up 28 spots to rank 47th (417 points). Josephine Nkomo, the Zimbabwean captain, contributed 150 runs at an average of 75, resulting in her 18-spot climb to 52nd position (384 points). Indian player Shafali Verma ascended two spots to the 54th position (377 points).

    USA’s Disha Dhingra was the second-highest run-scorer for her side and fifth overall in the series, making 156 runs at an average of 31.20. Her performances allowed her to rise 22 spots, placing her 55th (371 points). Teammate Sindhu Sriharsha was the leading run-scorer for the USA and fourth overall in the series, scoring 165 runs at an impressive average of 82.50. Consequently, she surged 42 spots to 57th position (362 points).

    Georgia Plimmer from New Zealand had a noteworthy series, scoring 66 runs in two innings, resulting in a remarkable climb of 40 spots to the 85th position (285 points). Anika Kolan, an 18-year-old batter from the USA, also had a decent outing against Zimbabwe, scoring 88 runs in five innings and moving up eight spots to 90th position (275 points). Fran Jonas from New Zealand has moved up four spots to 96th position (260 points).

    Women’s ODI Bowling Rankings

    Deepti Sharma from India took three wickets in two innings against New Zealand, allowing her to climb two spots to the 2nd position (687 points). New Zealand’s Lea Tahuhu, a seasoned pacer, also claimed three wickets across two innings, advancing three spots to 12th position (563 points). Amelia Kerr from New Zealand moved up one spot to 13th (560 points). Sophie Devine, the New Zealand captain, matched her teammates with three wickets in two innings and moved up nine spots to share the 30th position (431 points) with Arlene Kelly from Ireland.

    Zimbabwean skipper Josephine Nkomo led the wicket-taking charts in the series, with 7 wickets at an average of 21 over five innings. Her outstanding performance propelled her 13 spots to the 32nd position (422 points).

    The USA captain Aditiba Chudasama also picked up 7 wickets across five innings, sharing the lead in wicket-takers for the series. This performance underscores her crucial role in her team during the matches.

    Through her outstanding performances in the series, she has experienced a notable ascent, moving up 12 spots to reach the 58th position with 339 points. Zimbabwe’s Nomvelo Sibanda has claimed five wickets across four innings for her team, resulting in her advancement of three spots to the 59th position with 335 points. In a recent ODI series against the USA, Zimbabwean Audrey Mazvishaya also secured five wickets over five innings, elevating her 14 spots to tie for the 66th position with Fahima Khatun from Bangladesh, both with 312 points.

    Eden Carson, a 23-year-old off-spinner from New Zealand, made a significant leap of 32 spots to the 70th position, taking four wickets in three innings and amassing 304 points. Radha Yadav, the leading wicket-taker for India and in the series with seven wickets from three innings against New Zealand, also gained ground, moving up 22 spots to the 72nd position with 301 points. Tara Norris from the USA achieved seven wickets over five innings in the series against Zimbabwe, consequently rising an impressive 53 spots to the 74th position with 294 points.

    The young 16-year-old all-rounder Saanvi Immadi from the USA collected four wickets across five innings during the recent ODI series against Zimbabwe, which propelled her 69 spots to tie for the 77th position with Scotland’s Olivia Bell at 279 points. Arundhati Reddy from India secured one wicket in two innings during the ongoing ODI series against New Zealand, causing her to advance three spots to the 95th position with 232 points.

    Women’s ODI All-rounder Rankings

    Deepti Sharma of India scored 56 runs in two innings while taking six wickets across three innings, thereby inching closer to the top ranks by climbing to the 4th position with 369 points. New Zealand captain Sophie Devine contributed 81 runs in two innings and took three wickets in two outings, climbing two spots to the 7th position with 289 points.

    Zimbabwe’s captain Josephine Nkomo accumulated 150 runs in five innings and captured seven wickets, allowing her to rise 11 spots to equal the 18th position with 162 points, alongside Ireland’s former skipper Laura Delany, who also climbed one spot. New Zealand’s Lea Tahuhu and Fran Jonas have each moved up one spot to the 32nd and 34th positions, holding 110 and 105 points respectively.

    The 18-year-old USA skipper Aditiba Chudasama registered 53 runs and took seven wickets over five innings. Her commendable all-around performance led to a rise of seven spots, placing her in a tie for the 56th position with Ireland’s Cara Murray at 71 points. Tara Norris also impressed with 59 runs in three innings and seven wickets in five outings, climbing an impressive 31 spots to the 64th position with 62 points.

    Renuka Singh took one wicket in two innings, resulting in her advancement of six spots to tie for the 66th position with Zimbabwe’s Nomvelo Sibanda, who moved up one spot. Audrey Mazvishaya scored an unbeaten 26* and took five wickets in five innings, which propelled her 32 spots to tie for the 76th position with Papua New Guinea’s Pauke Siaka at 50 points.

    Radha Yadav scored 51 runs in two innings and took seven wickets across two innings in the series against New Zealand, earning her a remarkable elevation of 52 spots to tie for the 83rd position with England’s Sarah Glenn at 46 points. New Zealand’s Eden Carson scored one run in one innings and captured four wickets in two outings, resulting in a significant leap of 25 spots to tie for the 92nd position with South Africa’s Tumi Sekhukhune and Sri Lanka’s Udeshika Prabodhani, all at 41 points.
