Deandra Jalisa Shakira Dottin, a dynamic all-rounder from the Caribbean, made her international cricket debut at the age of 33. She first represented the West Indies on June 24, 2008, in an ODI against Ireland, with her T20I debut following shortly after on June 27, 2008, also against Ireland. Throughout her career, Dottin has reached several impressive milestones and achievements on the international stage.
In a remarkable addition to her illustrious career, Dottin has surpassed the 6,500-run mark across both white-ball formats for the West Indies. She has accumulated over 3,700 runs in ODIs, maintaining a strike rate of 79.09 and a respectable average of 30.54 over 135 innings. This impressive tally includes 22 fifties and three centuries. Her standout ODI performance occurred on January 28, 2024, against South Africa, where she delivered an outstanding unbeaten century of 150* runs off 158 balls at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
In T20Is, Dottin has notched up over 2,700 runs in 128 innings, which comprises 12 half-centuries and two centuries for her team. Her best performance in the T20I format was on May 5, 2010, during the opening match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts, where she scored an incredible unbeaten 112* runs off just 45 deliveries.

Dottin initially announced her retirement from international cricket on August 1, 2022, but later reversed her decision and made a return on July 27, 2024. In the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 taking place in the United Arab Emirates, she has contributed 41 runs across two innings for her team, with each run being crucial for their campaign.
She reached her 6,500 runs landmark during a match against England in the final game of the league stage. In that match, she hit a six during the 16th over of the run chase bowled by Charlie Dean. Under skipper Hayley Matthews, the West Indies won the toss and chose to bowl first, limiting England to 141/7 in their allotted overs. Dottin made a valuable contribution of 27 runs off 19 balls, helping her team secure a place in the knockout stage.
