    Chamari Athapaththu Moves Up In ICC ODI Rankings Following Victory Against West Indies

    After securing a 2-1 victory in the T20I series against the West Indies, the Indian women’s team, under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, further solidified their dominance by achieving a clean sweep (3-0) in the ODI series against the visitors, led by Hayley Matthews.

    ICC Women’s ODI Batting Rankings

    Sri Lankan captain Chamari Athapaththu has moved closer to the top position, advancing to 2nd place with 733 points. West Indian skipper Hayley Matthews recorded her 7th ODI century (106 runs off 109 balls) in the second ODI of the series against India, followed by a duck in the subsequent match. This performance resulted in her climbing 6 spots to share the 7th position (652 points) with Australia’s Beth Mooney.

    Indian player Jemimah Rodrigues finished the series as the 4th highest run-scorer with 112 runs across three innings at a strike rate of 112 and a commendable average of 37.33. Her notable performance included scoring 81 runs in two matches, allowing her to rise four spots to 22nd position (537 points). Teammate Deepti Sharma gathered 57 runs in three innings, improving her rank by three places to 30th (503 points).

    Wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh showcased her talent with 62 runs at an impressive strike rate of 206.66 in three innings, which helped her ascend 7 spots to 41st position (448 points). West Indian Shemaine Campbelle performed admirably, contributing 105 runs at a strike rate of 70.46, resulting in a climb of 13 spots to 52nd (402 points), sharing this spot with India’s Yastika Bhatia.

    Leading the run-scoring chart for the series, India’s Harleen Deol amassed 160 runs at a strike rate of 102.56 and a brilliant average of 53.33, including her maiden ODI century (115 runs off 103 balls) in the second ODI at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. Her outstanding performance earned her the Player of the Match award and elevated her four places to 54th position (399 points).

    Chenille Henry from the West Indies, despite playing only one game, scored a commendable half-century (61 runs off 72 balls) in the 3rd ODI, leading to a significant leap of 21 spots to equal the 65th position (349 points) alongside India’s Shafali Verma.

    ICC Women’s ODI Bowling Rankings

    Indian bowler Deepti Sharma was impressive, finishing as the series’ 2nd highest wicket-taker with 9 wickets, boasting an average of 10 and an economy rate of 4.09. Her best performance came in the 3rd ODI, where she took 6 wickets for 31 runs. Consequently, she moved up one position to 5th (665 points). Hayley Matthews also excelled, claiming three wickets within three innings and rising two places to 7th (616 points).

    Leading the wicket-takers for the series was India’s Renuka Singh Thakur, who took 10 wickets at an impressive average of 9.90. Her standout performance was in the 1st ODI, where she recorded match figures of 5 for 29. This achievement allowed her to climb three spots to 17th position (537 points).

    New Zealand’s Sophie Devine has also seen a rise in her ranking, moving up two places to 30th (435 points). Meanwhile, Karishma Ramharack from the West Indies had a less prolific series, earning one wicket but climbing two spots to 46th (380 points). England’s Lauren Filer and Ireland’s Orla Prendergast, Freya Sargent, and New Zealand’s Molly Penfold made upward movements in the rankings, with each climbing two spots to 76th position (290 points) alongside Aaliyah Alleyne from the West Indies.

    India’s young leg-spinner Priya Mishra finished as the 4th highest wicket-taker in the series with 5 wickets at an average of 20.20 across three innings. Her highest achievement came in the 2nd ODI, where she claimed 3 wickets for 49 runs, marking her career-best in the format so far, leading to a three-spot increase to 88th position (266 points).

    Titas Sadhu finished amongst the top wicket-takers, securing 3 wickets over three innings, earning a notable rise of 37 spots to share the 99th position (235 points) with South Africa’s Eliz-Mari Marx.

    Women’s ODI All-rounder Rankings

    Australian players Georgia Wareham and Kim Garth both advanced two spots to share the 22nd position (139 points). West Indies’ Chenille Henry made significant strides, climbing 6 spots to 27th (129 points), sharing her position with Australia’s Megan Schutt. India’s Renuka Singh also saw movement in her position, rising by 6 spots to 35th (98 points).

    Deandra Dottin from the West Indies had a modest series with three wickets and 23 runs, resulting in a two-spot rise to 37th position (93 points). Afy Fletcher from the West Indies scored 47 runs and secured two wickets, allowing her to climb five spots to tie for 44th position (84 points) alongside India’s Harmanpreet Kaur, Sri Lanka’s Inoka Ranaweera, and the Netherlands’ Iris Zwilling, who each moved up one spot.

    Karishma Ramharack’s performance, comprising 17 runs and 1 wicket over three innings, earned her a four-place rise to equal the 82nd position (48 points) with Frederique Overdijk from the Netherlands and Eliz-Mari Marx from South Africa.
