“A privilege,” “an extraordinary opportunity,” “a realization of aspirations” – these are sentiments expressed by the captains of the 16 teams gearing up for the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup.
The competition will kick off on January 18, with Malaysia as the host nation for teams from five different continents.
Anika Reddy Kolan, captain of the USA team, remarked: “Playing for our country is a remarkable privilege that the entire team and I deeply cherish.
“We are fully aware of the significance of a World Cup and how it represents the dreams of millions of cricketers worldwide hoping to don their national colors on such a grand global platform.
“With a mix of seasoned players and fresh talent, we are all thrilled to represent the USA under its flag in Malaysia.”
Leading the host nation is Nur Dania Syuhada, who expressed her enthusiasm for what this tournament represents for Malaysia. She stated: “Representing Malaysia at the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup is an extraordinary opportunity for us to display our skills on an international level.”
“The entire cricket community in Malaysia is excited to witness our young talents taking the field for the country on a global stage, fostering a sense of immense national pride.

Some teams have already acclimated to local conditions, with Malaysia having previously hosted the inaugural U19 Women’s Asia Cup. Bangladesh reached the final, ultimately falling to India, and captain Sumaiya
